Cell phones and radiation: The 10 highest- and lowest-emitting models

Cell phone users -- a group that, these days, means practically everybody -- are no doubt concerned about Tuesday's news that the World Health Organization (WHO) classifies cell phones as "possibly carcinogenic to humans."

The phones themselves aren't necessarily harmful. It's the radiation emitted by the phones -- and absorbed by the human body -- that troubles some doctors.

But when it comes to radiation levels, all phones aren't equal. Below are lists of the models available from major carriers that emit the highest and lowest levels of radiofrequency energy.

The Failure of LeBron James
The trouble with LeBron James is that he is such a great player, and especially such a smart player, that when you criticize him for passing the ball like a hot potato in one of the biggest fourth quarters of his life, you risk overlooking the opening he saw in real time that a normal human being only sees on a slow-motion replay.
When he took a pass from Dwyane Wade with about 6:50 left in Miami’s disastrous 86-83 Game 4 loss in Dallas and immediately redirected it to Chris Bosh at the top of the key, it looked passive, almost weak. But watch the play again, and you see what James saw: that Bosh’s man, Tyson Chandler, was under the hoop, dragged there by Wade’s penetration. James was ready to hit Bosh before the ball even got to him.
It was a smart pass (which led to a jumper that Bosh missed), and a few such smart passes dotted James’ epically weird fourth quarter on Tuesday night. But they don’t change the larger theme: With a chance to grasp the championship, the best player in the NBA morphed into a bizarre mix of James Jones, spotting up in the corner while the big boys did the work, and a ho-hum point guard running endless pick-and-rolls but unable (or unwilling) to penetrate into the lane. James went scoreless and attempted one shot in the final period.
Even worse, when James had the ball in the fourth quarter, he did not look to attack the basket — not even once. There are two caveats here, neither of which comes close to absolving James but both of which are nonetheless worth mentioning, for the sake of fairness:
• James draws so much attention as a distributor that he can be a major asset to the offense even at his worst. His dish to Udonis Haslem for a potential game-tying jumper with 1:15 left is a great example of a brilliant pass that will be wrongly lumped in with the rest of James’ underwhelming play. LeBron ran a pick-and-roll with Bosh at the top of the arc, forcing Bosh’s man (Chandler) to slide onto LeBron as Bosh rolled to the hoop. James picked up his dribble and looked in Bosh’s direction, and that mere look convinced Dirk Nowitzki that James was going to pass to Bosh. Nowitzki slid an extra two steps away from Haslem, and James found Haslem for a wide-open shot from his favorite spot. He missed.
When you’re the best player in the league, a higher-than-normal level of nitpicking criticism comes with the territory. Especially when that territory is a pivotal game in the NBA Finals one year after you and your teammates drowned the world in your overwhelming egotism. Sometimes that criticism is unfair, and usually it lacks both nuance and a recognition of some of the subtler plays James tries to make; one cannot try to score on every possession when your teammates include Wade and Bosh, after all.
But today, the criticism, even in the broadest strokes and loudest volumes, will be justified.

Magicbox Parabola reviewed: Why is the digital radio so unloved
?
For years the radio has been the unloved child of the digital revolution – but once you’ve got one it is hard to see why.
While the switchover from analogue television has been rapid, few people have bothered to swap their old-fashioned wireless for a shiny new 21st century set.
Yet digital radios have razor-sharp reception and there is a far wider choice of stations just waiting to be discovered.
The set only has a smattering of buttons and is extremely easy to use and as soon as I’d scanned for the available digital stations in the area I was away.
It can hold up to 10 of your favourites as presets and also has an alarm clock function and a backlit display.
The lightweight set will sit perfectly on your kitchen worktop, in the dining room or nestled away next to your bed.
But there is a problem.
Although so few of us have switched over to digital radio, there is a lot of competition and a whole range of sets pitched at the same price.
if you love your radio, you’ll be a huge fan of the choice of stations. But if you really love your radio you’ve probably upgraded already.

Now you can really pay as you go: Google unveils phone that can be swiped as a credit card

Customers will be able to pay for goods just by waving their phone's screens across a terminal reader, thanks to smartphone app Google Wallet.  For Banking Call Center agents, this is good news for you guys!  Your inbound call volumes will lessen  because you'll have less complaints regarding declined transactions from merchants with defective terminal readers.
The project is designed in conjunction with MasterCard and Citibank, and so far the likes of Macy's, American Eagle Outfitters, Subway, Walgreens and a host of other brands have signed up to the scheme.
Using Near Field Communication technology, the app will allow users to purchase goods. The payments will then be sent to the merchants who may choose to provide shopping incentives for the consumer.
Other merchants that are MasterCard Paypass enabled - such as CVS and Jack in the Box - will also accept payments from the app.
Google wrote on its blog: 'You'll be able to store your credit cards, offers, loyalty cards and gift cards, but without the bulk.

Google assures security details and card protection will operate on multiple levels, including a phone lock, a Google PIN and encrypted credit card information.
In terms of how a bank account can be linked to the app, Google said: 'At first, Google Wallet will support both Citi MasterCard and a Google Prepaid Card, which you'll be able to fund with almost any payment card.'

The Secret of X-Men's Success

"X-Men: First Class" hits theaters as the fifth in a series of successful movies in the "X-Men" franchise, with at least two more "X" films on the horizon: "The Wolverine" and "Deadpool."
The series was the second launched by Marvel Studios in 2000, following a wildly popular 1990s Saturday morning animated series, which closely followed the story arcs from decades of stories from the wildly popular comic books. Marvel Comics regularly puts out seven core "X-Men" titles, and they remain among the top-selling titles for the company.

What about X-men 4???

In 1963, Charles Xavier starts up a school and later a team, for humans with superhuman abilities. Among them is Erik Lensherr, his best friend... and future archenemy

But most viewers expect fast forward not rewind  We have seen Wolverine history which did not leave much of a mark so now we expect at least what will happen next? I'm sure X-men First Class will boom, not to mention the visual effects and never before seen action scenes and everything but Where on earth is X-men 4? Movie Producers, do not mislead our viewing habits by keeping on leading us to the past of our favorite Marvel Heroes.
